I took some pictures of the sky while we were up near the Kruger recently...it was just so beautiful I had to!

There was actually a vulture in the tree in the centre of this photo, but it's too far away to see nicely unfortunately.

We found this wee little guy on the balcony yesterday.

I took loads of pictures but these are about the only ones that came out ok...trying to focus on someone so tiny with my little point and shoot wasn't very easy!

Yellow Blossom

I took this when we were up near the Kruger National Park last week.

Apparently there has been a drought up there for the last few years and we visited just as they had their first rains, so there were leaves and grass just starting to emerge.

I liked the contrast of this little yellow blossom against the late afternoon sky.

I know it's been a long time but phew I never knew having a baby and trying to work from home would be so hectic!

I often miss my photo a day challenge though, but have decided that while I don't need the pressure of posting a daily photo, I would still like to post pics as and when I get the time to.

So I am starting again!

Here is my first pic, I was lying out in the garden with Seth this last weekend and thought these leaves were so beautiful against the blue sky. I wondered if I could capture the colours on my camera...I think it turned out ok?

As I was tagged to do a meme, I thought I would try a self portrait. Unfortunatley I forgot that when you are heavily pregnant it is probably not the best time to have pictures taken as you are usually quite puffy from the water retention. Oh well, this was the best of the bunch...heavily photoshopped LOL!

Yesterday my good friend Jane visited with my favourite little boy, Michael.

The next thing we get called down the passage to find he's climbed into the cat's basket, and wants to sing for us using a torch as a microphone.

So today we saw the midwife for the first time since we are "overdue". Baby is still perfectly happy and doesn't want to come out to fill the empty crib...sob!

I was going through some of our old photos, looking for something for a christmas present...when I came across these two photos I took in Wales, Christmas 2004.

My in-laws were visiting and we took them out to see some snow at a nearby waterfall. When we got back to the car, the sun was setting on one side of the field, while the moon was rising on the other side...it was absolutely breath taking and the photos do it no justice at all.

The rain just came down without any warning at all...by the time I made it to the back door there was no point in even trying to get in my washing, it was soaked through...sob!

Unfortunately that also meant I had to keep to my end of the deal and move my beloved teddies out of our bedroom. Daryn's been waiting for this moment for years :)

I met up with some friends this last weekend at the most gorgeous little tea garden. Unfotunately I forgot my camera that day.

After the blue skies yesterday, today has been miserable.

Then I caught sight of the most gorgeous rainbow on the way home, it was a full rainbow but by the time I managed to pull over for a pic it was fast disappearing and this was all that was left.

We have had the most gorgeous blue sky all day I just had to take a pic.

I was actually hoping to take a picture with some of the sparkling white puffy clouds but by the time I got home they were gone and there wasn't a cloud to be seen.

I haven't adjusted the colour, so you can see - really blue!

I just got back from my sister's house where I was giving her hand with an order for 50 christmas cakes she got.

Here you can see the production line of cakes she is making.

I was delegated to box folding while my sister was busy with the icing, baking etc is not my strong point :)

I always picture angels looking kind of like the disciples in the Bible, so when I saw this mobile in the market in Mozambique I just had to have it.

I've hung it in the baby's room besides my friends telling me it will give the child nightmares, I think it's lovely!

We decided to get one for our two cats in hopes of luring them away from the baby's cot :)

This is one of the gifts from the baby shower. It's actually from my sister and is the nicest night light!

It plays music and different sounds like a heartbeat, or water sounds etc and has a variety of different colours.

I had to close myself in the cupboard this afternoon to get it dark enough to see the colour properly :)

We're hoping to be able to fix it ourselves though...if I have to see another plumber after the 8 visits I had this last month I might scream :)

They say things happen in threes, well our pond pump had to be replaced over the weekend too and we've discovered what looks like a leak at our water mains...it's never ending!

My parents left today after visiting for the weekend.

When I got home from my morning job I found a bunch of these beautiful minature roses waiting for me, which my mom had picked from the garden.

We spent some time at the pool and Daryn braved the "refreshingly cool" water, which I just call freezing.

Daryn took me away for the weekend to Valley Lodge in the Magliesberg, it is such a beautiful and romantic place with the river running through it and all the big trees.

Day 129 - Nursing Necklaces

I recently found out about nursing necklaces so thought I would try make some with what I have at home.

Basically it is a necklace which baby can fiddle with whilst nursing, that must be strong enough to survive baby's tugging and playing.

I have no idea if these will work but I thought I would try, if baby doesn't like them I can always break them down and use the beads elsewhere.

I cleared out the cupboard in the baby's room today and found a bunch of my old toys from when I was a baby.

I was so please to find the duplo, and as it was a bit grubby I decided to give it all a wash so that it's ready for when Bubble want to play with it.
